With 3 days and a wakeup to go, it looks like Saturday will be a perfect day for a party. Scattered storms early in the morning should give way to partly cloudy skies and an afternoon high of about 80.
We are still looking to get the party started by about Noon, and serving up the BBQ pork, burgers, and dogs by about 1 PM. Come early, if you wish. The hangover crew will be up and at it, getting ready for the day.
Prior Update: We had to make a little change to the schedule for our party. Robert P. and the band have a schedule conflict in the late afternoon/evening and will have to adjust the event time.
We are now looking at them hitting the stage at about 1 PM and playing until they need to break it down, probably around 4 PM.
With this change, we’ll probably try to get the food on the table a little earlier than 2 PM. We want to make sure everyone can enjoy the show!

We are looking forward to an amazing day of food, drink, music, and fun with our friends and families at Tim Miller’s beautiful property, just a few minutes west of Tonganoxie, off of US 24/40 Hwy. (Directions below) Robert Perez’s amazing band, Flipside KC has agreed to return. You don’t want to miss this!

Details:
Date/Time: Saturday, June 8. We’ll call the official start time Noon, but if you want to start day-drinking early, come anytime. We’ll be up for it. Planning on serving food starting at 2 PM, and the band will probably get fired up around 3 PM (See above update for schedule change)
What to bring: A suitable outdoor chair, a cooler with your favorite beverages, any outdoor games you might like, your fishing gear (Tim’s lake is catch-and-release, please), and a pot luck item. See below. If you have a portable canopy, you might also consider packing it along as well.
Food: We got the meats! I’ll be smoking some pork butt, and we’ll be grilling burgers and dogs. Maybe more to come on the meat piece, but that is what we have for now. If anyone else wants to provide their favorite meat, please feel free. We will also provide buns, condiments, plates, bowls, plastic cutlery, and napkins.
Pot Luck Sides and such – We ask that you bring a side/salad/snack/dessert of some sort. We have limited fridge and cooler space to keep the cold stuff cold. For crock pots, we will have large tables and power available to keep the hot stuff hot. Some suggestions, and notes if it’s already covered:
- Salads – Potato salad, macaroni salad, etc.
- Baked beans
- Coleslaw – Robin has this covered with her jalapeno coleslaw
- Mac & Cheeze
- Potato chips, corn chips, tortilla chips, etc.
- Dips
- Vegetables and dips
- Cookies, brownies, cake, pie, etc.
- Any other snack or finger food thing you can think of.
