Great news! With 4 days to go, it looks like they have removed the rain from the forecast for Saturday. It is supposed to be sunny and 72 degrees. It’s not exactly chili weather, but great for a get-together at Miller Farm.

If you are coming, please shoot me a quick text at 913-707-6011 and let me know how many are in your party, and if you are bringing a entry for the contest. I need to print up ballots, and we are providing all-beef dogs and buns for chili dogs. We want to make sure we have enough for everyone. Thanks!

We are still looking to serve no later than 3 PM and present awards by about 4 so anyone wanting to catch the band at the Moose Lodge can get there on time.

For directions scroll down in this post to a google maps link and downloadable PDF. You can also call/text me at 913-707-6011 and I can send you a pin. We are looking forward to seeing you there!

Reminder: Don’t be a Kevin! Practice safe transport of your chili!

Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Miller Farm, Reno, KS.

Scroll down for directions. Please call/text John at 913-707-6011 for more information.

Bring the family. Come anytime to hang out, but we will plan to begin serving at 3PM, with voting and awards starting around 4PM.

The contest:

Please bring a crockpot of your best stuff and a serving ladle.

Since we didn’t have a great interest in soups last year, we’ll keep it simple and just judge the chili. If you still want to show off your soup, please feel free to bring it!

This is a blind tasting, with each entry identified by number. All attendees will submit a ballot of their favorite chili number after sampling. Prizes will be awarded for 1st through 3rd place.

Bribery and politicking are forbidden, but wagering is encouraged.

We will be cooking up some hot dogs and will have the standard accompaniments on hand (hot dog buns, crackers, shredded cheddar cheese, diced onion, sliced jalapenos, mustard, ketchup, and Frank’s Hot sauce)

Serving bowls, utensils, napkins and such will also be provided.

If you have a favorite side or accompaniment (cornbread, breadsticks, specialty hot sauce, etc.), please bring it.

We’ll have tables with power available to keep your crock pots at temp.

Anyone who wants to bring an appetizer or dessert, please do so!

As always, at Miller farm

Bring your chairs, yard games, and a cooler of your favorite beverages. Also, bring your fishing gear (Catch and Release, please)
